UChicago Faculty Member Wins Award

On December 20, Wu Hung, Harrie A. Vanderstappen Distinguished Service Professor of Art History in the department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at the University of Chicago, was selected by China Life Magazine for The Eighth National Spirit Achievers Award. The Award Ceremony was hold in Jing An Shangri-La Hotel in Shanghai.

Citation: His research bridges the gap between the East and the West, the past and the present. He guides us on an aesthetic tour across civilizations. Wu Hung is an inheritor and pioneer, a scholar and curator, striving to reconstruct the history of Chinese fine art and to introduce Chinese contemporary art to the Western audience.
