Exploratory Workshop on Energy and Environmental Policy

Through February 1, 2013

Begins
Jan. 31

The purpose of this is to explore the range of possible collaborations in the energy and environmental policy area between the University of Chicago (partnered with Argonne National Laboratory) and Chinese colleagues in Beijing. Focus areas include urban energy use, energy efficiency and environmental conditions and constraints in the general urban environment.   One aspect of the discussions was to assess the availability of data, including sensor and operational data for major cities beginning with Beijing and Chicago. The workshop identified (a) topics of common interest, and (b) potential “next steps” to build joint research programs in these areas.
