INTRODUCTION AND GENERAL INFORMATION

The Department of Sociology of Renmin University of China and The University of Chicago Center in Beijing welcome you to “The First Chinese Political Sociology Workshop” from July 18-20. The main topic of this workshop is “Collective Behavior and Social Movements.” Twelve academics from China and overseas will be invited to give lectures on their studies and to hold discussions with the participants.

This workshop will promote research on Political Sociology and enhance collaborations between the University of Chicago, Renmin University of China and other Chinese academic institutions. Through lectures and discussions, it will serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas between domestic and foreign scholars.

This workshop will provide simultaneous interpretation for lectures presented in English. Accepted participants are expected to attend all the activities during the workshop.

中国人民大学社会学系、芝加哥大学北京中心诚邀您参加7月18日-20日在芝加哥大学北京中心举办的“第一届中国政治社会学讲习班”。本次讲习班的主题为“集体行为与社会运动”。届时12名中外学者将应邀作为演讲嘉宾,向学员讲授自己的学术研究,并与学员开展学术讨论。

此次会议致力于推动中国政治社会学研究的发展,也为促进芝加哥大学与中国人民大学和其他中国学术机构之间,以及国内外学者之间的学术交流提供了一个很好的平台。

本次讲习班凡是用英文讲习的环节,均提供英语同步传译。学员必须参加所有讲习活动。
