For more than a century, University of Chicago faculty and students have worked in other countries and in collaboration with scholars from around the world. Today, that reach extends further than ever with hundreds of programs, initiatives, and partnerships in over 38 nations and on every continent. At our campus in Hyde Park, students and scholars from around the world enhance each other's academic pursuits and share a passion for ideas with impact. Each year, the University enrolls more than 3,900 international students from over 100 countries. Across the world, UChicago scholars convene and collaborate at University Centers in Paris, Beijing, Hong Kong and Delhi or in the field -- wherever their research takes them. Our alumni span the globe. They are political leaders, humanitarians, executives, and innovators. From Chicago Booth's excutive MBA campus in London to the Oriental Institute's field house in Luxor, Egypt, the University of Chicago facilitates scholarly collaborations, creates student opportunities, and enriches knowledge and education around the world.

The Global Engagement Office supports a growing number of international programs and partnerships, overseas centers and campuses, research collaborations, and global education opportunities. While helping to steward programs already under way, the Associate President for Global Initiatives, Michael Kulma, collaborates with faculty, deans, and University administrators to lead the development of University strategies for engagement in key regions.

Our Center in Beijing and Center in Hong Kong provide a physical presence that enhances and strengthens the University’s traditionally strong ties to China and enhances new partnerships and affiliations across East Asia.  At our Center in Paris, students learn from UChicago faculty, in conversation with experts from across Europe and Africa, welcoming the public into its community.  The Center in Delhi is an intellectual destination, a place to explore ideas across institutions and disciplines, expanding opportunities for collaboration with Indian universities, research institutes, and cultural organizations; and it serves as a focal point for engaging alumni in India and South Asia.  With permanent campuses in Chicago, London, Hong Kong and Singapore, Chicago Booth draws top business executives from every continent to learn from each other and the same prestigious faculty who teach in Hyde Park. The Oriental Institute’s Chicago House in Luxor documents ancient Egyptian inscriptions and works with Egyptian scholars on conservation, restoration, and site management.  Our alumni span the globe. They are political leaders, humanitarians, executives, and innovators  And through our Study Abroad programs, students and faculty of the College travel the world together, covering a UChicago curriculum while they uncover the histories and cultures of great civilizations.
